Armeria maritima 'Sea Thrift Pink', commonly known as Sea Thrift or Sea Pink, is a compact evergreen perennial forming neat cushions of narrow, grass-like green foliage topped with rounded clusters of bright pink flowers. Blooming mainly from late spring into summer, its distinctive flower heads rise above the foliage on slender upright stems, creating a colourful display despite the plant's naturally low-growing habit.
Exceptionally well suited to exposed and difficult planting positions, Sea Thrift naturally thrives in coastal environments and tolerates wind, salt-laden air, drought and poor soils once established. Its compact evergreen form makes it particularly valuable for rock gardens, gravel gardens, edging, containers and cracks between stones, while the flowers provide a useful nectar source for pollinating insects.
