Zinnia elegans 'Cherry Queen' is a tall, dahlia-flowered zinnia producing large, fully double blooms in a rich cherry-red shade on strong upright stems. Its bold flowers and long stems make it particularly well suited to cutting, while the bushy plants provide strong colour in sunny summer borders. Dahlia-flowered zinnias typically reach around 60–90 cm and are valued for their large blooms and suitability as cut flowers.
This half-hardy annual performs best in a warm, sheltered position in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Zinnias flower through summer into early autumn and continue producing fresh blooms when regularly deadheaded or cut for arrangements.
